advertising

While contemplating why the lights went out during the Super bowl and no one seemed to say more than, "New Orleans, whatever", I thought if I had a commercial spot what would it be for and what would I do?

I have to admit that my favorite commercial was the one for Budweiser.  I will confess that I actually shed a few tears when the horse ran back to its trainer.  As long as I am admitting stuff, I liked the one for Best Buy.  I know what it's like not to get  a word in edgewise when it comes to electronics and electroinically challenged people, especially trying to explain that" ICloud" concept!

The commercial for Doritos was really stupid but must have done the job because I ate about a pound or more after it aired.  I also feel the need to go to Taco Bell and either grab a taco or party with some old people.

Now back to my commercial.  I think it would be me dancing and someone random coming out at saying, no dude, the dance goes like this.  Then another very different person comes out and says, no it's like this, and so on. Finally we all dance together because we realize that we are wearing the same sneakers.  Kitchy but if you get Pit Bull to play the music and dance along, you got a winner!

Not to be focused on food, but I was impressed with Oreos.  Not their whispering, library destruction commercial, or the cookie itself which is quite delicious, but the ad that came out after the lights went out that said something like, "Oreos, you can eat them in the dark".  Those guys were fast and clever.

Commercial advertising seems fun, fast and furious (not like the Fast and Furious promo which was kinda , what?).  I mean when you get it right and the audience responds, sales go up and you are furiously popular.  When you get it wrong, you better be fast out the door because your boss will be furious at you.

Commercial Advertising..........maybe..............

  1. This is really funny. You are developing a comedic voice here. This is exactly the types of things you should be writing. Feel free to add in bits about food and other zaniness, but in here you also have good cultural commentary that makes reading it worthwhile beyond the humor.
