Jane Austen

I am reading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.  This books seems to elicit 
strong emotions in people who have read it recently, or many years ago.  I hear 
a lot of " I loved that book", " Pride had a great impact on me" " Austen uses a 
lot of big words" and " I should read that book again because maybe I will 
really get it this time".  All comments are valid.

What struck me, apart from all of this, is the idea that if Austen was alive 
today, she would rival J.K.Rawlings, or if Rawlings wrote Harry Potter back then 
( she probably would have been burned at the stake or something), forget that. 
Ok, so the point is that Austen and Rawlings have a similar style and wit.  

Really think about this and you will agree.
